Waterleliefontein Farm, established in 2012 by Jo and Tessa Neser, spans 46 hectares along the Van der Stel Pass in Bot River, Western Cape. Named after a dam dotted with indigenous blue water lilies, the farm focuses on olive oil, wine, and honey production. Its 10-hectare olive grove yields a medium-intensity extra virgin olive oil blend, harvested and milled to preserve fruity characteristics, grassy aromas, and a distinct peppery finish, packaged in signature blue tins. The Neses, former commercial lawyers with deep rural roots, planted two hectares of Syrah and one hectare of Grenache Noir in 2017. Their 2021 Syrah Grenache Noir Blend, matured in older oak barrels after partial whole-bunch fermentation, was ranked Top 10 in the 2024 Prescient Signature Red Blend Report. Beekeeping forms part of the farm’s diverse agricultural approach, supporting pollination and biodiversity.
