Domenic Torzi

Domenic Torzi is a South Australian food and winemaking producer whose work is grounded in heritage traditions. A fifth-generation Calabrian-Abruzzese descendant, he grew up on the Adelaide Plains working in his family's market gardens. In 1996 he established a vineyard in a frost-pocketed hollow at Mt McKenzie in the Eden Valley, producing European-style wines through careful hand harvesting, whole-bunch natural ferments, basket pressing and fine-grained French oak. He also runs the family table-olive and olive-oil business, sourcing wild and planted olives throughout the Barossa Valley to produce extra virgin olive oils with distinctive regional character.
