
Tokara Wine Estate
Tokara Wine Estate, located on the upper slopes of the Simonsberg mountain near Stellenbosch, began cultivating Tuscan olive varieties over two decades ago, initiated by Anne-Marie Ferreira. The estate’s olive groves, positioned alongside its vineyards, leverage the region’s distinct climate, topography, and soils to grow plump, ripe olives. Harvested fruit is processed in a small-scale mill adjacent to the Tokara Delicatessen, where a modern Italian olive press ensures precise, cold-pressed extraction of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The estate integrates olive oil tastings into its Wine Cellar Door, offering visitors an opportunity to sample the product alongside their wines.
