The company traces its roots back to 1977 when it acquired a historic olive oil press dating from the 1940s, and in 2010 created the Sabor do Sul brand for their premium olive oils and traditional fig and medronho spirits. They produce Extra Virgin and Virgin olive oils, primarily from the Maçanilha Algarvia and Galega vulgar varieties, with their Extra Virgin oil having a maximum acidity of 0.8°.
