Namaqua Olives

Namaqua Olives & Olive Oil was established in 2012 by the Avenant family, who have cultivated wine grapes in South Africa's Olifants River Valley for three generations. Located in the West Coast region, known for producing 16% of the country's wine, the business transitioned to olive farming to diversify its agricultural focus. The company produces a range of olive oils cold pressed in an Italian Pieralisi machine, including single-varietal Frantoio and infused gift sets, alongside olives, balsamic vinegar, and salt (fleur de sel, harvested from St Helena Bay). Based at Nuweplaas, Vredendal, Namaqua Olives highlights its regional roots and commitment to expanding olive cultivation in an area traditionally associated with viticulture.
