
Macala Orchards
Macala Orchards, a family owned operation in Sage, California, draws inspiration from its Italian heritage to produce olive oil and other foods from its 20 acre estate. Established with a focus on health benefits, the orchards feature over 659 olive trees alongside pomegranates, Zinfandel grapevines, figs, guavas, citrus, avocados, and persimmons, all grown organically to minimise environmental impact and employ low water usage practices. Production centres on the Macala EVOO Sicilian Blend, which earned a gold award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition. Visitors can attend daytime orchard markets or book private tours and tastings, while the estate supports sustainable farming through direct-to-consumer sales and community events.
