The Welch family operates J Welch Olive Ranch, a multi-generational farming business in Texas run by Jackie, a fifth-generation farmer, and his wife JonAnn. Drawing on Jackie's 40-plus years of farming experience and JonAnn's business background, they established their olive orchard in 2014 by planting over 86,000 Arbequina and Koroneiki olive trees across 120 acres of former pasture land near Victoria, Texas. The family farm operates under the motto "Faith, Family & Farming" and continues to expand as a diverse agricultural business, with four children and ten grandchildren ensuring the farming legacy will continue into future generations.
The orchard produces premium first harvest cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, with the Arbequina variety delivering a lighter, fruitier profile with subtle pepper notes, while the Koroneiki brings a more robust, herbaceous character with a distinct peppery finish. Their oils have earned recognition for their quality, with the operation marketing its products as award-winning.
Beyond their core extra virgin olive oils, J Welch Farms offers an extensive range of flavoured oils infused with essential oils, including Garlic, Rosemary, Basil, Jalapeño, Caliente Jalapeño, Lemon, and Lime varieties. They also produce a selection of balsamic vinegars. The operation extends across three distinct brands—J Welch Farms, Fuerte, and Ooh La La—catering to different market segments, while also offering private labelling options for businesses. Customers can access their products through the farm's EVOO Club subscription service, which delivers quarterly shipments directly to their door.
