Gold Ridge Organic Farms
Gold Ridge Organic Farms was founded by Brooke Hazen, who began planting his rural parcel in 2001 in the rolling hills of Sebastopol, Sonoma County, approximately 50 miles northwest of San Francisco. The CCOF and OTCO certified organic farm now features 70 acres of olive trees, comprising approximately 130,000 trees, alongside 18 acres of apples and citrus. The farm produces four olive oil blends: Tuscan Blend and Minerva Blend (Italian cultivars), Picholine Blend (French cultivars), and Arbequina Blend (Spanish cultivars). They also produce specialty oils including Meyer Lemon and Mandarin-Kumquat olive oils. Olives are harvested in November and December and milled on-site within hours to create California organic extra virgin olive oil. In addition to their own production, the farm offers custom olive milling services for other producers. The farm's organic apples, including a Gold Ridge Heirloom Apple Blend containing six antique apple varieties, are sold at Whole Foods markets throughout Northern California and in the Reno-Tahoe area. Business Operations Manager Andrea Lederle, who brought experience from the wine industry, manages the brand partnerships and direct-to-consumer operations. The farm welcomes visitors for orchard walks at 11:30am and 1:30pm, priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children. Guided by principles of loving care, clean living, and stewardship of the land, the small farm produces exceptional organic products.
