Gladstone Olive Company
Gladstone Olive Company was started by two families from Wellington seeking a rural lifestyle for their children and a chance to produce their own extra virgin olive oil. Nestled on the banks of the Ruamahanga River in East Taratahi, Carterton, they grow olives and involve both families in the annual harvests.
Their fresh, peppery extra virgin olive oil comes in filtered and unfiltered varieties, ideal for drizzling on salads, risottos or with dukkah. The product range includes 500ml and 250ml bottles, alongside their popular Toasted Dukkah.
The 2025 harvest proved to be their best yet, despite challenges including rain, snow and mechanical failures along the way. The quality of their oil was recognised with a Silver medal at the NZ Olive Oil Awards, a testament to their dedication to producing exceptional extra virgin olive oil.
The focus remains on good food and the joys of country living, with the families actively sharing their journey through their blog and Instagram @gladstoneolives.
