Confido Coonawarra is a family-run olive oil business started by Dave and Heidi Boyd, who moved to Coonawarra with their family and discovered a property with 1,600 olive trees, lemon trees, cherry trees and other fruit varieties. Initially growing vegetables and raising sheep, they began making extra virgin olive oil from the olives, which they enjoyed so much they turned it into a full-time venture. The business, named after the Latin word Confido (meaning "I Trust"), now produces eight products, uses sustainable farming practices, and sells through retailers, local markets and wholesale channels. They also offer visitor experiences including Olive Oil Tasting Experiences, Harvesting and Processing Experiences, and Cooking with Olive Oil Experiences, sharing the unique qualities of the Limestone Coast region. The farm features its own olive harvester and olive oil processor on site. They use recyclable or recycled packaging and bottling options for all products. Their product range includes Extra Virgin Olive Oil in 1L and 2L casks, Olio Nuovo, Dry Salt Cured Olives, Pure Castile Soap Bar, Pure Castile Soap for Pets, Natural Lip Balm, Natural Moisturising Balm, and Lemon Squash Concentrate. The business has been featured on ABC News for its tasting room pop-up, which helps educate Australian consumers about olive oil variety flavours.
