Cobram Estate
Cobram Estate is an Australian olive oil producer founded in 1998 by Rob McGavin and Paul Riordan. They are Australia's largest olive farmer, with 2.6 million trees on 7,000 hectares. The company focuses on quality, using a tree-to-table approach that includes planting, harvesting, cold pressing, and bottling their olive oil. They practice sustainable farming, aiming for zero waste and protecting biodiversity. Cobram Estate is known for its award-winning extra virgin olive oil, made with a commitment to excellence and environmental responsibility.
The company operates a vertically integrated model, controlling every stage of production from nursery operations through to bottling. Their Australian operations are based in North West Victoria, while their United States operations are headquartered in the Sacramento Valley, California, established in 2014. This dual hemisphere operation enables year-round production of premium extra virgin olive oil.
Cobram Estate has received over 300 international awards for quality and taste, including Best in Class at the Australian International Olive Awards (2023) and Top Pick at Cook's Illustrated Olive Oil Tasting (2022). The company joined the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in 2021 and reported global sales of $74.0 million in 2022, becoming Australia's number one selling extra virgin olive oil.
Their olive varieties include Picual, Coratina, Koroneiki, Picudo and Arbequina. The more robust flavour profiles are derived from Coratina and Picual olives, which have higher polyphenol levels. The company is values-driven, emphasising honesty and integrity, passion for quality, and humility in their operations.
