Clare Estate Olive Grove
Clare Estate has been cultivating the land since 1901, with this parcel of earth having been home to many families over the generations. The olive grove thrives on a north facing slope in the ideal Mediterranean climate of Clare Valley, where hot summers and cold winters create optimal conditions for olive cultivation. Grown using biodynamic farming methods on their family farm, the 1,200 olive trees including varieties such as Verdale, Pendolino, Leccino, Kalamata, Manzanillo, Koroneki, and Frantoio-are handpicked and processed on site to produce their extra virgin olive oil.
The oil has received notable tasting notes: "Spices on the nose, green tomato with fig leaf & green herbs, transfers to an intense green palate of fresh grass, witlof and radicchio leaf that builds in heat morphs into chilli." Available in 100ml, 250ml, 1L, and 2L bottles, with prices ranging from $8.50 to $45.
Beyond olives, the property boasts a wide array of fruit trees (oranges, lemons, limes, mandarins, persimmons, nectarines, apricots, pears, apples, cherries, walnuts, chestnuts, plus a 100‐year-old mulberry) and seasonal crops like tomatoes, basil, rocket, asparagus, parsley, spinach, thyme, bay, oregano, and chillies. These ingredients are incorporated into their diverse product lineup, which includes olive oil, black garlic, flavoured oils, grazing boards, vinegars & dressings, and even a pet range. They also offer an Extra Virgin Club subscription for customers wanting regular deliveries of their small batch, handcrafted products.
Their philosophy is simple: "Our Garden, Your Table." They invite visitors to take their taste buds on a real adventure with their premium small batch handcrafted products, direct from their Clare Valley estate to your table.
