
Arai Olive
Arai Olive is a small, family-run producer on the island of Shodoshima in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, where the owner has been growing olive trees for over 45 years. They hand-pick young, green Mission olives at an early stage and press them within just six hours of harvest using a unique extraction method. This labour-intensive approach yields only about a third of the oil that conventional producers obtain, but results in an exceptionally fresh, polyphenol-rich extra virgin olive oil with acidity consistently below 0.1%. Every bottle is individually numbered, reflecting the producer's stubborn commitment to quality and a desire to share the true taste and aroma of freshly pressed olive oil.
