Aquiferra

Aquiferra is a family-owned olive oil producer based near Maraekakaho in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, established by Tim and Jess Groves in April 2021. The couple manages approximately 650 olive trees on their home block, producing over 1,600 litres of olive oil annually, while also sourcing additional high-quality oil from local groves to meet demand. Aquiferra is the only owner-operator olive grove in Hawke's Bay still selling its own olive oil, and their virgin olive oil has earned recognition as an award-winning extra virgin olive oil from their boutique grove in sunny Hastings. Their product range features premium varieties including Frantoio and Koroneiki. The name "Aquiferra" combines the Latin words for water and land, reflecting the importance of the underground aquifer that nourishes their grove. The business demonstrates a commitment to sustainability through practices such as their refill service at Farmers Markets, which has saved over 1,850 one-litre bottles since they began operations.
