Allpress Olive Groves
Allpress Olive Groves, established in 2021 by Michael Allpress (creator of Allpress Espresso), is a producer of award-winning extra virgin olive oil on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. The groves date back to 1997 when Allpress first planted olive trees at Rangihoua Estate, benefiting from the island's unique microclimate and volcanic soils to create distinctive oils. He began milling from his own fruit in 2016, and in 2021 purchased Rangihoua Estate along with neighbouring grove number 29, combining them with his own holdings to form what is now Allpress Olive Groves (previously known as Rangihoua Mill).
Beyond olive oil production, the company offers visitors a range of experiences including a tasting room, mill tours and holiday accommodation set amongst the olive groves. The onsite mill has been restored, and the tasting room occupies a stunningly renovated space. The business continues to expand, with the Allpress Bistro now open as part of their vision to establish Waiheke as a world-class destination beyond its vineyards and beaches. The bistro features a seasonal menu highlighting local New Zealand ingredients, an inhouse bakery producing fresh sourdough, rotisserie chicken, fresh fish, and olive wood-fired pizza, alongside an olive oil chocolate mousse for dessert. The drinks list includes wines, craft beers on tap, and olive-oil-infused cocktails.
