aficio22
aficio22 produces premium EVOO in California from Arbosana and Koroneiki olives with California Olive Oil Council certification, which ensures oils are lab tested. Their oils feature distinct flavour profiles, with the Arbosana variety offering bright, herbaceous notes of olive leaf, green tea, and thyme with a spicy finish, whilst the Koroneiki variety delivers bold, robust characteristics. They employ a unique protective packaging design, with opaque bottles that shield the oil from heat and light to preserve quality and flavour integrity. The oils are distributed through farmers' markets, including San Diego's Little Italy market, and via web sales with shipping across the US and Canada.
Co-founded by Kaveh, who brought experience from the banking sector, aficio22 was established with a mission-driven approach to producing exceptional olive oil whilst making a positive social impact. Kaveh's passion for olive oil began in childhood, inspired by his mother's cooking where olive oil was a staple ingredient. Together with his twin brother, he developed an appreciation for olive oil's complexity and versatility during their university years, cooking their own meals using quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar when they grew tired of cafeteria food.
The brand sources single-origin olives from orchards in Central and Northern California, with much of the production process-including design, finishing, labelling, filling, and fulfilment-completed locally in the USA. This commitment to local production, combined with their California Olive Oil Council certification, ensures traceability and quality throughout the supply chain. Their partnership with Nordstrom in San Diego for Mother's Day weekend marked a significant milestone, showcasing their growing presence in the market.
Beyond product quality, aficio22 is dedicated to youth empowerment and community engagement, actively supporting initiatives that enrich education and create opportunities for young individuals.
