This extra virgin olive oil is made from Mission olives grown on Shodoshima island in Kagawa Prefecture, pressed and bottled by Yagi Nouen. It has a green, grassy aroma with fresh apple notes, and a rounded flavour where bitterness and pungency are softer than in early-harvest oils, with a gentle richness coming through. The producer suggests it works well with grilled fish, simmered dishes and other Japanese cooking, and even recommends pairing it with soy sauce.
