Al Torcio Bianchera (Bjelica) extra virgin olive oil is a varietal oil from the Istrian region of Croatia. It is clear with an intense golden yellow colour and warm green notes. The aroma is complex and vegetal, featuring notes of artichoke, wild sow thistle, freshly mown grass, and a finish of rosemary. The taste is fine and strong, with vegetal flavours of wild herbs, chicory, artichoke, and green almond, accompanied by pronounced bitterness and elegant spiciness. It pairs with roasted mushrooms, gratined blue fish, pasta made from farina, warm vegetable starters, roasted fish, stewed red meat and game, and hard mature cheeses.
